and it doesn’t disappoint!

So we finally received our first shipment of the brand new Kymco Compagno 110 and 50 cc scooters. These are GREAT scoots, fast, fuel injected and just top of the line features make this a real quality purchase.

We took the 110cc out for a ride before the rain came and it was a really great ride. Super quick off the line, great speed (before the stop sign) and handled the speed bumps and ruts of Chicago roads very comfortably. If you’ve been needing to upgrade your Honda Metropolitan or SYM Mio for a much nicer and faster scooter this is for you. If you just want a high quality, fuel-injected scooter this will fill your needs beautifully.

Let’s kick off spring 2013 with a great scooter ride sponsored by Chicago’s own Genuine Scooters and Scooterworks Chicago.

Genuine Scooters wants to thank and celebrate Genuine scooter owners with a fun filled day of small wheel adventures. Genuine Family Reunion Rides will begin in the spring and continue throughout the summer. We hope you can join Philip McCaleb and Genuine Scooters because we all need to feel the love, breathe fresh air and celebrate our decision to ride with a grin on a Genuine!

REUNION RIDE CHICAGO STYLE!

WHEN: Sunday, April 28th
TIME: Meet up at 10:30am Lunch around 1:30pm
WHERE: Scooterworks Chicago
5410 N Damen Ave.
Scooterworks Chicago, the very first Genuine Scooters dealer, will participate and co-sponsor the ride for Genuine Scooters riders. Don’t own a Genuine Scooter, stop by anyway and join in the fun as a honorary Genuine Scooter owner for a aday. Meet and greet at 10am, leave by 11am. Our ride will be leisurely and 50cc friendly, and will proceed north on Sheridan road to Lake Bluff and back. We’ll meet up afterwards at the Fireside restaurant around 1:30 for a delicious lunch provided by Genuine Scooters, Chicago’s hometown scooter company!

FIRST LOOK: Kymco Movie 150

Here are our first pictures of the new Taiwanese made 2013 Kymco Movie 150 scooter. As you can see we have some snow in the background so we have’t had a chance to ride it yet, bummer.
Our first impression is great, it’s a beautiful looking sport style scooter. Classic step-through design makes it easy for people of any height to ride it. Dual disc brakes are a very nice feature, as is the new style gas cap location. My favorite thing, and it’s minor, is the spring for the seat hinge which allows the seat to go up nice and smooth, and actually hold itself there. It’s the little things for me.

Part 4: Adding Panels to Custom Buddy

So we finally got the panels installed on our Custom “Shelby” Buddy, just in time for the Indy Motorcycle show this weekend. Check out our Facebook gallery for all the pictures of the panel install and finished changeover. We still have to get the racing number and fine tune the look, but she’s close to looking right.
Next is upgrading all the engine and transmission performance parts, which will be done after we get the bike back from Indy.

PART 3 CUSTOM BUDDY PANELS PAINTED

We just got back our panels from the paint shop for our Custom Buddy 125 we’re building. Wow, what a difference, shows how good any color Buddy panel can look with a custom painting.
We painted ours Shelby blue because we’re trying to create a sort-of Shelby Buddy that will be Blue and White. In fact, we’re not even using all of these panels but we decided to get one of each Buddy panel painted anyway.
Check back soon as we’re going to start to put this whole thing together soon.
